I use the UWLD 160 W-Hr can, UWLD Heat controller (12V output, 5 levels), and Warm & Safe 12V heated shirt.


 
The problem with EO connectors is they are a wet-contact connector. The original company, Electro Oceanics, did make a high amperage connector with an internal switch to cut power before unmating, but I haven't seen one in 40 years.

You would want to create an interlocking switch or a GFI-like circuit to cut power. There is no personal risk of electrocution but battery drainage and contact erosion is the problem, even at 6VDC — which is the lowest voltage I have experience with.
