I always pack a good deep woods bug spray with deet for these kinds of trips. You reminded me to go and check to be sure I have it packed.

Yes and maybe a Skin so Soft type product. It is funny that what works for some people will not work for others. I have also heard that baby oil works.

I used Cactus Juice on my trip and it worked well. I did bring some 100% deet and never used it.

I concur on the shark dive and the Aguilla. Great dives both. Very friendly groupers on the wreck. And I had never swam with sharks before, very different experience from just sitting on the bottom and watching them eat.

When you arrive at Fantasy Island, make sure you're not in the rooms on the hill. They are quite a hike up and after 3 dives a day, they get taller and taller. Plus, the view isn't as good as a beach view! I got one my first visit and had them move me down closer to the main lobby and restaurant. Much better! Also, if you want to make at least 4 dives/day, have your divemaster load an extra tank for your afternoon dive and have them drop you over the Prince Albert and send the dingy back after 45 minutes or so and you'll get an extra dip.

All in all, Fantasy Island is a good resort/ All inclusive with spectacular diving. I haven't been to CoCoView which also gets great reviews but my two visits were very good value and quite enjoyable. Don't expect the Ritz and you'll have a blast! Have fun!

October is fine! Deet or they eat! Some people can run across a busy freeway with their entire family and never get hit, then some of us look both ways at a cross walk with a signal! Check the last time the hydrostatic test was done on your tanks, if over 5 year refuse to use it; don't be surprised to find them.

Isn't that a discussion for a different thread? They aren't under DOT rules there! They don't need no stinkin DOT stamp! Haven't heard of any failures in the last 20 years or so! They have a hard time pumping them to service pressure let alone over filling! I would worry about bad air first! I don't think its a transportation problem in Roatan!
