I'll be heading to Bonaire at the beginning of March with a group from my LDS, and staying at the Divi Flamingo. I've been to Bonaire before, in August 2011, so have a decent idea of what to expect, but I was at Buddy Dive that trip. I've done a google search for SB posts about the resort, but came up with very little that was recent.

So, I'm looking for tidbits of advice on extra things to bring (I've read a lock for the gear lockers on the dock), trip review links, photos, etc. Basically what to bring and what to expect... I've seen reviews saying the place is in disrepair and others saying it's in great shape...

thanks in advance

Just came back from a week at divi. The only thing to bring is the lock (or you can buy one in the shop) and dive light batteries. We forget the lock half the time. The on site dive shop seemed well stocked with normal things. My dive buddy had her reg hose split and 1 hour and $28 later we were ready for a night dive.

One thing to check is tank fills. We ran into a number of tanks that had low fills - due to leaks around valve stem or the valve. Normal fill was just over 3000.

The resort was just getting a fresh coat of paint, but it is a little rough around the edges with lots of small things that need attention - our patio door did not slide very well, our air conditioner leaked water into the wall - just the normal Caribbean stuff, nothing out of the ordinary or different from my memories of sand dollar or captn don.

Wifi is no longer free. There was good in room coverage in our room.

There is a small sunshine? Market 1 block away that we use to grab simple lunch stuffs. We did not do anything fancy, just buns, cold cuts, cheese etc... As our room only had a fridge. Wall safe held all valuables.

Bonus for divi is that it is just on the edge of town so you can walk to a wide selection of restaurants within 15 minutes. A new discovery for us was At Sea. High end but worth the price.

do they have a weekly wifi rate? I'm only seeing 15/30/60 minute rates on their website.

I think it was $10 a day or $40 per week per device for wifi. So I read my email on my wife's iPad...

we did not really look for free wifi in town as we did not carry anything when we went to supper. There may be free wifi available at some cafes, bars or restaurants in town.
