The diving is the best! You could not take a bad uw picture. (see my link below) The colors were vibrant, the fish aren't shy and there was plenty around of both.

We stayed at the Garden Island Resort and Aqua Tech Dive Shop in Taveuni, Fiji which is in the northern section. Garden Island is not a luxury resort but comfortable, reasonably priced with good food. The famous Rainbow Reef is right off of this island and is not to be missed. Also, you must do the White Wall!!!! You enter a tunnel around 30 feet and can exit at 50 or 90 feet (you decide). Once you turn around, you are confronted with a HUGH wall of white soft coral in a soft current. Please don’t miss this one. Also Annie's Bonnie, The Zoo, The Dorner, Blue Ribbon Eel and The Ledge come to mind.

Our daily scheduled included two morning dives and then we had the afternoon to explore the island. We were able to climb a rain forest, swim in several waterfalls, tour an island village and get some shopping in. Overall, it was not a great trip and one that I would repeat. The airline was around $2,000 and the hotel (included food and dives) was about $863. Not really bad for a 10 day trip.

Tips for your trip:

1. Bring a converter for your electronics
2. Bring coffee for your room
3. Bring sarongs or buy in Fiji. They are great to wear for walking in town. In Tavenui, they requested that women did not wear shorts or bathing suits while in town. Note ... These were acceptable and suitable at the resort.
4. There is no tipping on this island; but they do accept gifts like t-shirts, jewelry, etc from the states. We did tip the dive shop crew.

Have a GREAT time and post pictures!!!
