We are headed to Curacao in Feb 2006. We are staying at the Sunset Waters Resort, and diving with Sunset Divers. This will be my first big trip, and first ocean diving experience. I am excited!!! Has anyone stayed at the Sunset Resort, or been with Sunset Divers? What is the weather, and water like in Feb.? We have heard it should be nice weather, and water in the mid 70's. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the board.
The weather should be nicer than that. I would bet on 85-90 in the day for air temp and between 79 and 81 for water temp. There is a recent report on SWR here on this board and I posted a trip report a while back myself. Do a quick search on Curacao and you should find both post.

You should have an excellent time.

Although I have never dived with your operator, and although I have only been to Curaçao once, I can assure you of an excellent experience, assuming good weather. The reefs are excellent, the current mild, and the water temperature purely pleasant.

The only thing I have to warn you about is renting a car.

I did not figure out all the rules of the road there, but I have surmised that you can get a ticket for failing to go off the road to avoid a car coming at you in your lane around a blind corner.

That's just a guess, but I'm going with it.

they have a shuttle that will take you to town and give you a tour upon request.

the op staff is very accommodating and alot of fun.
the house reef is a good dive.

We've rented a car on Curacao a bunch of times and never had a problem of any sort. Just drive carefully like anyplace. The roads are generally pretty good for a Carribean island, just watch out for goats, potholes, and pedestrians especially once you're out of downtown. (the the typical reasons why the other guy might be on the wrong side of the road.) The locals tend to drive fast.
