Looking forward to another great trip to the super friendly Island. Love to dive there and usually end up doing 4 days diving, a day off, and then 4 more days diving.

Regards,
Bob C.

We enjoy staying at Hedo and the diving is all included. You can take your any or all your gear or use theirs, no extra costs.

If you take yours, they will store it and have it on the boat for you on the dive days and times you sign up for.

Good dive spots with lots of marine life.

Regards

I have read post after post that Jamaica sucks for diving. So my question is this: Are the many people who say it sucks wrong? If they are not wrong then why dive in Jamaica?

Additionally I hope you are being sarcastic about "super friendly;" I have been to Jamaica and on both occasions the locals enjoy harassing you in an attempt to score some cash off of you.

Islandheart -- are you diving Negril? We'll be there in mid December, but at Couples.

Diving in Negril is very good, much better than the general reputation. Don't dis it until you've tried it. Clear, warm, fun, plenty of good sealife.

Islandheart: Tell Ritchie and Bigger that "Dean" says hello! Love those guys! Ritchie is listed on my OW and AOW cards. Then be sure to say hi to Delroy and Scumba! Have a great time!

I agree. We went in 2003 and again in 2008. Clearly measureable improvement between the two trips, and looking forward to another trip in 2013. We dove with Sundivers in 2008, and really had a good time.

So now I am seeing the "other" side of people's opinions on Jamaica diving......Why not speak up in all the threads discounting Jamaica as a diving option?

I love Jamaica. I've always enjoyed the diving there but I like diving everywhere. Is it as good as Bonaire or Cozumel? No. Is it 100 foot viz, easy diving, lots of little critters? Yes. And the surface intervals are amazing. I've been diving in Negril five times in the past two years. Loved it. I also haven't been hassled there for money any more than any other Caribbean locale but we also don't look or act like tourists. I also enjoy the very "naturale" surface intervals.:D

Do some searches for Negril and you'll find plenty of good news on diving there. Jamaica's biggest problem related to diving is that it's usually just a side event at all-inclusive resorts but not the feature. There are no scuba-centered dive resorts that I can recall.
