The crackling is the rsult of mild setrss from less that propper equalization, some fluid got squished into the wrong part of the ear. Taking up to 2 weeks to reabsorb in not uncommon. Find more by searching CRACKLING in the medical forum.

As for the headach you may have an infection brewing in there if it's been 4 days, get checked out or at least give DAN a call. If you haven't joined yet here is your first good reason. You may not have time to post here next time you need to speak with a dive savy medical professional.

Yep ,
A new or newer diver as you may be your tubes just are sounds like clogged, and you may have some water in your ear,try some sinus med to open this up,if it still is acting up see a ENT just in case you forced something,I had this after my first dives and it just cleared up after a deep dive or two,but dont take any chances with the ears and I'm no doc so paly it safe and try a post in diving Med on this site some folks in that area know their stuff! and hope all is well,Good luck and welcome to diving its a blast!
Oh Yes as said if you dont have do join DAN !! And get the dive INS,Its cheap saftey all divers need! and they are some great folks to ask any diver med question 24/7
