Well the Top Dawg usually works for almost any Sony. Its a good possibility it will. You can contact Top Dawg and see. But there housing does work for the SR12, so chances are it will work on the 520V. They dont have it listed on there compatibility list just yet, give them a ring and ask them. I don't see why not.

Do you own the camera already? I found a review where it says: very good lowlight but very limited functionality. Is that true? Are manual white balance and focus possible?

I have one, I just sold my SR12 and have a 520v I'm considering getting a housing for. Manual white balance and focus are possible, it has all the controls the SR12 had. I think the electronic focus is no longer supported, at least I've heard that it isn't meaning you have to focus underwater using the control knob, which kind of stinks. But the low light performance is WORLDS better than the SR12 or HC9, it's DRAMATICALLY improved as is the image stabilization. Other than that it's about the same overall as the SR12. The improved low light performance will make it a much better uw camera for most scenes though.

I have not put that camera in a top dawg housing.

Sony has changed the remote control code, and at this point it does not look like it is going to be possible for any housing manufacturer to access manual focus or momentary autofocus via the remote port.

This is unfortunate, as I set my bluefin for the sr12 to control exposure via the manual dial, focus on the left electronic grip, and zoom on the right.

There is no possibility to switch the focus to manual control? Underwater mostly fixing the focus onto something is enough. This should work.
There is a German guy. I am pretty shure that he will "work" on that code thing. As far as I know many houing manufactures are using his boards.

I have a bluefin pro housing for my XR520v now. I will dive with it here in San Diego this Sunday the 5th of April (most likely). I only have the blue water filter, the green water one won't be available for a few weeks. I will probably just do artificially lit subjects because blue water filters around here don't work too well. You can white balance but they cut so much more light the results are always much worse than those with a green water filter for naturally lit wide angle style scenes.

Is it like that: the XR520v doesn't have a lanc-control? I think it is the same with the EX1?

You are correct, Sony did away with the LanC control 2 ccamera generations ago. The housings now operate through the 10 pin AV connector
