Ok so housing, lighting showed up today, hurray! On the HC-7 I moved the White Balance button so it can be used.

Dumb Question 1: Once you choose MWB how do you go back to Auto WB?

Dumb Question 2: If you choose MWB and then decide to use your lights (we went with the Greenforce 50s) I assume you MWB again with lights on??

Sure there will be other Dumb Questions.

Thanks….

Hi,

Set the one push feature to WB and then white balance every 10' or so. You can white balance it against sand, or even hold it up to the surface. Watch the monitor until you get the colours you want. I believe that once you set the one push feature to one thing, that is it until you open the housing again. I have white balanced with the lights and used the lights without white balance. I like it better without the white balance as the reds are not so over kill. Try and see what you like better. Have fun. The housing is pretty much bullet proof.

Correct, you leave the camera in manual white balance, and just keep resetting MWB as necessary. I've found that it's always a good idea to make sure that the HC7 is in One-Touch mode right before my first dive since putting the camera in the housing. I'm not sure what sets it back to AWB (changing batteries, time?) but every once in awhile it does revert back for me.

congrats on the new toy...;)

Unfortunately, as others mentioned, yes you can't go back to AWB. It would be nice if there was a way as there have been times I've noticed the HC7 not being able to properly MWB and giving me some awful green and red footage. At some point, whether it's battery removal or if the camera is shut off, the settings along with WB reset.
