having issues creating albums

I've been trying to create a new album and each time I get the following error:

Unable to create/write to /home/zephyr/public_html/gallery/data/4976! Check your data directory permissions before continuing.

I've tried using names with spaces as well as names without spaces and get the same result.

I'm also having problems - after attempting to upload this message appears:

Unable to move file [/tmp/phpEtkNSH] -> [/home/zephyr/public_html/gallery/uploads/71309/Racha_Yai_2_.jpg]
