So, I signed up for this class 2 months in advance. 5 days before class, I get a post card telling me the shop is closing. I call the other store and yes, Class is still on. I show up for class and the instructor has no idea who I am or that I am in this class. The next class, which is classroom, I find out it is now a NAUI class and I have all PADI materials. The next class, pool session, I have major problems with the instructor and have to switch classes. (this is outlined in post 'havin a hard time')

Next class is awesome. Instructors great. Feeling good. Because of time constrants, they were going to finish my training with 2 private classes. So, I play phone tag for a week with the guy. Turns out, he has decided to move home and there are no other instructors available. Did I mention home is Turkey?? They are willing to have me come to the store that is 1 hour away and tutor me for a bit then, take the written test and give me a referral. Even though I only had 1 classroom where the instructor spent 1/2 the time bragging about his trips and the other 1/2 giving us the answers to the test.

I don't feel comfortable with that so, I found another dive shop that has the time to work with me.

I am not upset or angry......I just want to learn how to dive. I know on my end I have made good decisions. With a whole lot of crazy bad luck. Have had a few laughs with friends about this 'bad luck' Turkey?

Is this kind of unprofessionalism very common??

I am in the process. Sent an email and just have to wait it out.

Good heavens! Thats awful! No, its not common from what I have found at all! Good luck... hopefully you will be diving soon!

My dive instructor's great, he's worked around my schedule and bent over backwards to help me. I'm having a great time learning, finished the pool sessions and do my first open water dive tomorrow (monday)
