Have you eaten Jumbo Squid?

I've eaten my share of Loligo opalescens and peali (squid you find commonly on the West and East coast of the United States). Just curious if anyone has eaten these guys as they seem to be abundant?

Ive eatten Humbolt squid. Ya have to pound it like an abaloni ( butchered that one!)
It's OK, not as good as the little guys.

That's the species. What made it not so good? The squid, or the recipe?

I've also eaten Humbolts we've caught down in Baja. Pounted them flat, breaded them, and fried them up. Didn't much care for them (still very tough). Much prefer the smaller species.
