what I worry about is reeling it up, I have a goodman handle thats why I'm looking at using a reel of this design, when reeling this thing up how much of a pain is it?

Do you know if the halcyon comes in like a 200 or 250 foot reel?

Reeling in is fine...as fine as a task such as reeling can be anyway....

Halcyon comes in 400, 800 and 1200 hundred feet according Extreme Exposure. The 400 is adequate for me.

Isn't it just basically a Jasper handle?

Bin using the original diverite reel for years and this looks just like a fancier version of the same.Great reel ,works well, plastic screws dont suffer from corrosion, plastic, spools break if they are wound too tightly but dont distort and bind up and if the manufacturer stands behind their product like diverite do then you just send it back and they give you a new one. I always find it nice if the guy making my stuff doesn't think that their way is the only way. ;)

i also have the older version of that dive riwte reel. im very happy with it..
im sure there are better ones but im happy with the one i have.
the new one looks nice
i was fondling it in my LDS. seems nice, but nothing that makes me want to replace the current one i have.

I saw these the other day and it does look somewhat like the halcyon. I personally never really liked the old style DR, but that was all there was, I even helped a friend of mine design and produce some reels that she now manufacturers and sells here in mexico.

If this one jams less and is more ergonomic than the old ones, then give it a go.
