Dear Folks:

I have a Mares Nemo dive computer and didnt buy the I.R.I.S. interface after reading the bad press and problems other divers had with it.

Now, after having logged a gimongous amount of dives, (45) I am halfway interested in looking at my dive profile (has my see sawing gotten better). . . so I am now interested in making my own interface, rather than dropping a scuba buck for a plastic chingaderra.

Anyone throw some parts together, hooked it to the 'puter and have it work?

Thanks for your response.

Tevis

go buy a generic infared interface. My Uwatec TEC wrist computer is able to transfer logs to my computer from my built in infared interface. It's cheaper than buying one that say's mares or uwatec.

I know this is all about DIY, but it would most likely be just as cheap to buy a generic infared, unless you just wanted to build one.

Dear Amascuba:

That is a piece of sage advice. A quick question, I did a quick google search of "IR interface" and came up with a ridiculous amount of off topic hits. Is there a particular website you could point me to?

Thanks again,

Tevis

I know, it's an old post, but did it work? Which one? Thx!

My computer has an IR interface built-in, and I have a Mares M2....do I just put it in PC mode and hold it against the IR interface? Isn't there software required???
