I did a search and found some older threads but I didn't find anyone that had tried the the Oceans for Youth program advertised in Dive Training magazine.
I sent for the materials and haven't received them yet but I'm curious to see if anyone has any experience with it. It looks like it would be a good program and it would be fun to go into classrooms and teach kids about the marine environment.

My son that is 15 ordered and received the DVD. I do think that the program is geared toward younger kids and not necessarily for teenage youth.

I ordered the materials and found them to be of some use. I'm a professional educator on the high school level, so what I received was a bit below my students, but I also team-teach with educators in the elementary grades. I annually present a program that includes my own video and photos, particularly concerning the Flower Garden Banks NMS (since that is "local") and of course the kids always are interested in the science and experience of diving. However, I made the OFY materials available to the elementary teachers, and they told me they did, indeed, find them useful.

What I had in mind is a lot like what you are doing with the emphasis on my local area and I also plan on gearing it toward K-5th grade.
It might also help that I coach youth sports so a lot of the kids I do the presentation for will already know me.

Sending Guba a PM.
