This is all great info.
My final decision is to keep the aluminum set up for warm water hawaii diving.
It is the Hollis 38 wing with the Diverite plate and harness.

I ordered a SS Hollis plate to match the Hollis wing and will go Hog style harness with this one.
Now the hard question: Red or Blabk webbing to match the red and black wing. Decisions, decisions.
Thanks to everyone.

Take the old harness off your backplate and lay it straight on the floor. Where the harness passed through tri-glides, the backplate and buckles will be obvious by the creases in the webbing.

Take your new harness webbing and lay it alongside.

Use a piece of chalk to mark on the new webbing the locations of all the hardware.

Thread the new harness onto your backplate with all the hardware in the chalked locations.

Your new harness should now be ready for use without further adjustment.

Red! :)

go to his site, and use the drop down menu (black or red)...

Note: this webbing is softer/supple. Not sure it is an issue.

It's little softer once it gets wet compared to something like the DSS webbing. My DSS rigs are 8 yrs old with lots of dives on them and that webbing is still stiff. My HOG harnesses are a just a tad softer.

Fish are not scared of divers because of spearfishers. Fish are scared of the big hulking noisy bubble making thing bouncing around the reef chasing them and trying to take their picture. When what they really want is to be left alone. Spear fishers from what I have seen have better control, are not as noisy, are much more like fish in the water, and for the most part leave most of the fish alone.

READ THIS !!!

Researchers say reef green zones work - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

What you just told me shows your VERY limited experience with saltwater fish and how you know so little about how effective protection/no zones are- these fish don't look so scared! because its illegal to kill them in this location, fish aren't scare of scuba divers, just over eager landlubbers from fishless areas(like PA STATE! redneck central lol) getting to touchy feely and being predated upon by spearfishers- again you show me your zero to hero dive education and dead great lake diver talents.

here this is what happens if you eliminate fishing, both line and spear!

Spear Fishing teaches fish to fear divers [Archive] - ScubaBoard - Scuba Diving Forum - Diving Social Network

Wonder what Dr Bill would make of your comment's?

Spearfishing is devastating to a marine eco-system it removes some of the vital equalising mid-chain fish which maintain the balance to bio-diversity. They always shoot the biggest one!!!! Once you realise what your seeing underwater your attitude goes thru a paradigm shift. Even line fishers are starting to hate spearfishermen, as lots of line anglers catch and release- spearsfishers can't say the same thing.

So I try to promote whats good me!!!'lots of fish to click at.....Í know who fish like better, it sure aint spears and hooks!
