What he said.JimC:If you only route the LP hose and not the whole corigated inflator though the bungee it is just as secure and you can dump with it more easily.
So when putting on the reg, the LP Inflator goes:
- Down to first elastic on corrigated hose
- Though elastic
- Though bungee on webbing, only LP hose, not corrigated
- Thought second elastic on corrigated hose
- Into inflator
I had someone show me recently that it can be "just as effective" if you take a loop of surgical tubing (bungee might work too) and put the whole inflator, corrugated part and all, through the loop. Holds it close, and in an emergency, allows you to raise the inflator high (the loop of tubing rolls back). I think he was disappointed that I didn't want to implement his change with my gear - but what works for me, works for me, as I rarely use my inflator tube for dumping anyway (only on initial descent while still vertical in the water)
