LOL MSilvia

I dive in the lakes mostly. BP is 2 pounds while STA is 4 pounds. I usually need only 3 pound weight belt with AL80 tank and 3mil wet.

For the salt water diving (Gulf Of Mexico) used HP100 steel tank.

So steel BP will only be needed for diving in a 5/7mil wet or dry during the winter.

Is it one of the Asahi 100s that Genesis sold? I've got a pair of those doubled up, and man are they ever heavy. I had to switch from a steel plate to aluminium just to be neutral with them in cold salt water.

RebelXT:
IQ Pack can work as a soft pack BC, but I do have aluminum back plate "inserted" into it. However, webbing is not even threaded through the back plate. BP is there just for additional weight and rigidity, and STA is mounted to it as well.

I've just got in touch with instructor who clarified that one piece harness is a must for the class.

Can't wait until January when i'm taking DIR-F!

Great, have fun. Be sure to let us know your thoughts/impressions when you are done.
