Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone (where'e Lil' Irish Temper when you need him?)!!!

hopefully you are weaing something green, or a Leprichaun will bite your nose :11:

and in celeberation thereon, a traditional Irish song:

Parting Glass

Of all the money that e'er I spent
I've spent it in good company
And all the harm that ever I did
Alas it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all

If I had money enough to spend
And leisure to sit awhile
There is a fair maid in the town
That sorely has my heart beguiled
Her rosy cheeks and ruby lips
I own she has my heart enthralled
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all

Oh, all the comrades that e'er I had
They're sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e'er I had
They'd wish me one more day to stay
But since it falls unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be with you all

Back at ya laddie :voskl1:

Wora, wora, I'm wearing my green, have my kilt pin on and a smile on my face.

May there always be water for ya, and air in your tank.

I have green hair now (the spray kind, though would you think different of me if I really did?) , so that's pretty cool. Got a lot of smack talk on the bus… ("Look at the irish towelhead!!")

But I am impervious. It's Saint Patrick's Day, and I am going to PARRRTAY!

Will be out later doing that kind of thing...

The Clancy Brothers contributed this Irish monolog and song...

The word wiskey...such a lovely word...comes from the Gaelic, Ishcabaha - which means 'water of life'...

Tim Finnegan lived in Walkin' Street
A gentleman, Irish, mighty odd;
He had a brogue both rich and sweet
And to rise in the world he carried a hod.
Now Tim had a sort of the tipplin' way
With a love of the whiskey he was born
And to help him on with his work each day
He'd a "drop of the cray-thur" every morn.
cho Whack fol the darn O, dance to your partner
Whirl the floor, your trotters shake;
Wasn't it the truth I told you
Lots of fun at Finnegan's wake!
One mornin' Tim was feelin' full
His head was heavy which made him shake;
He fell from the ladder and broke his skull
And they carried him home his corpse to wake.
They rolled him up in a nice clean sheet
And laid him out upon the bed,
A gallon of whiskey at his feet
And a barrel of porter at his head.
cho:
His friends assembled at the wake
And Mrs. Finnegan called for lunch,
First they brought in tay and cake
Then pipes, tobacco and whiskey punch.
Biddy O'Brien began to bawl
"Such a nice clean corpse, did you ever see?
"O Tim, mavourneen, why did you die?"
Arragh, hold your gob said Paddy McGhee!
cho:
Then Maggie O'Connor took up the job
"O Biddy," says she, "You're wrong, I'm sure"
Biddy she gave her a belt in the gob
And left her sprawlin' on the floor.
And then the war did soon engage
'Twas woman to woman and man to man,
Shillelagh law was all the rage
And a row and a ruction soon began.
cho:
Then Mickey Maloney ducked his head
When a noggin of whiskey flew at him,
It missed, and falling on the bed
The liquor scattered over Tim!
The corpse revives! See how he raises!
Timothy rising from the bed,
Says,"Whirl your whiskey around like blazes
Thanum an Dhul! Do you thunk I'm dead?"

Was going to post a really cool toast about never forgetting what's worth remembering and vice versa - but I forgot it :D

My Tshirt (yes Kelly green) says "When Irish eyes are smiling, they're usually up to something"

Ah yes, the celebrations of the ridding of snakes from my marvelous country...

Please, please people...speak quietly this morning for I have quite a tender head....

So happy belated Paddy's Day from Dublin :D

If I was on here yesterday I could have granted some of ye a wish...(I was a leprechaun in my previous life)
