Greetings from Denver and Thank You very much for the kind wishes!!!
What a 50th it was! We arrived at the Denver Aquarium this morning where I met up with my brother and was escorted to the divers lounge. Filled out the obligatory release form and went up to the 3rd floor where we were suited up and led over to the main shark tank. After a 20 minute species and safety briefing we stepped down to the staging platform and had to do a brief skills test. We then dropped down into the main tank to what they call the trench, we were not allowed to dive in the sharks territory, I wonder why? We did a 40 minte dive around the perimeter of the shark tank with many sharks coming by for a visit. The DM had to fend several off with a specially made pvc pipe. It is amazing to have a 16' sand tiger come crusing within one arms length of your head, I think he liked me! We then proceded up to a maintenance shaft close to the sharks feeding area, here are found sharks teeth that they shed during their feeding. We then moved on back to our entry point where we put on a show for the kids on the other side of the plexy. Ever played patti-cake through 3" of plexy? The kids loved it! A puffer fish decided to join in on the fun and stuck with us for another 5 minutes. Anyway, a great 50th, I'll see you all when I get back, your a great bunch!!!
