My wonderful girlfriend reminded me this AM that today marks the 2 year anniversary of receiving my OW certification! Yay to me! It's all her fault too...she bought me the lessons as a Xmas gift. Little did she know that I would spend so much more money on diving than I do on her (shhhhh...dont TELL her that!). Heck, I spend more money on diving than I do on FOOD!

So, two years, 130 some odd dives, my life completely altered by this activity. Only regret that I didnt start his in my 20s. But so what, if I'd done that I may not have met all the wonderful people that I now consider dive buddies and friends. John "The Hand" Manos...coulnt have made so many dives so soon without the guy that dives more than I do and has a big truck to haul all my stuff around...I have complete trust that John is watching my back when we dive. Thanks man!

And so many of you here on Scubaboard! Thanks to each and everyone of you, even those I havent met yet, for making diving in SoCal so much freakin' fun!!!

Special props to Mark Donoghue, aka "scvdiver" for taking the time out this past weekend to assist me during my first experience with a drysuit. Thanks Mark!!

Robert:

I like the "after" picture a lot better than the "before" picture. I've still got a similar "before" picture on my computer desktop because I don't have any underwater pictures of myself since going to the long hose.

Next step: Can light - then doubles. DS is key.

Sorry Jim, the "before" picture is actually a shot of John Manos! Forgot to caption!

Affirmative on the DS for DIR! The purchase if the drysuit will set back my fundies plans a few months, not only the cost, but I need to re-learn my bouyancy control! Then there's the BP/W rig...

Next time we are diving together and I have my camera, I'll get you to pose =)

Cheers!

Oops - it could have been a picture of me about 18 months and four major revisions ago. The DS will work out. I was a disaster my first three DS dives (Thanks Milo, Chris, Rick, and Claudette). In another 12 dives or so it will be the most natural thing in the world. Yesterday I held a stop at 5 ft. until we got tired of hanging. Cake.
