Do you seasoned dive travelers bring wet suit and BC hangers on your trips?

What about those foldable ones? Any good?

Yes. The XS Scuba folding wet suit and BC hangers.

The are great. They fold up really small and don't add much weight to the suitcase.

We take them on driving scuba trip and scuba trips requiring air travel such as those to the Caribbean and Hawaii.

A BC can survive a whole week without the use of a hanger. On liveaboards, it will likely be strapped to a tank for the week. Otherwise, as well as on landbased, you can hang a partially inflated BC from the loop at the top.

Wetsuits? You can throw them over a line, maybe bring your own. A 30' piece of 3mm line is even handy where lines are provided- you can secure your gear against string winds. A better liveaboard will have this figured out in advance. Any better op will provide regular plastic hangers- the big tough variety- for your wetsuits.

We don't want to take the room to pack any pricey, fancy hanger you buy at a dive shop- we each carry 2 heavy plastic clothes hangers that are taped together. After the week is over, along with a tip, the maid gets them and a pack of clothespins. In the Caribbean, they are always appreciated.

Your BC will dry just fine for the trip if you inflate and rinse it, hang it upside down in the shade and let it dry. Avoid resorts or accommodations that do not have clotheslines- bvut it's always good to bring that hunk of thin, tough line.

Another couple of great ideas! Thanks!

i don't take one for the wetsuit, but i do take the one for gloves, booties, and hood.

i also take some strong bulldog clips for the wetsuit, bathing suit, or towel so nothing will blow overboard. i assume there will be a line to hang stuff on, but if not i'd cut some off my reel.

Well, it does seem to be a good idea to bring a couple of hangers. Maybe I'll try a couple of the travel wetsuit hangers and bring a couple of regular BC hangers. I'm going to pre-pack this weekend...and see where I stand for baggage and weight.

Actually the XS Scuba folding BC hangers take up a lot less space which is important when traveling by air.

The hook portion of the hanger also rotates 3600 which make it easier to hangup the suit/BC in odd places like railings etc.

Yeah, I was looking at those. I didn't know if they were lame or not. I'm taking two sets of gear, so that's like $50 for hangers... Almost the cost of two dives! ;)

10 days in Cozumel recently and some people noticed my "clothesline" and were jealous. NETLINE - from McNett company (the mirazyme people). Cheap, stretches alot, and holds alot of stufy that wont fall off it.

that netline is pretty cool. I just bookmarked it. LOL.

I brought my own hanger to Buddy's when was in Bonaire and left it in the locker room for my wetsuit. Don't you know almost every time I came back from diving someone had taken it. :rofl3:I had to finally leave a note on it.
