Hamilton Pool

Has anyone here ever dove Hamilton pool?

It looks like an interesting place to dive in the Austin Area..

I thought scuba diving is now prohibited there... maybe that's some other place in Austin.

I am going to call tomorrow about diving it. i might be able to get out there saturday if my wife lets me go.

According to their rating system, you need four stars for scuba. This joint only has one star.

The site also implies a 1/4 mile hike... down a canyon.

Visitors making the .5-mile (round-trip) hike to the pool begin at the parking lot and descend into a narrow box canyon featuring impressive rock outcrops, bald cypress, lush plant life and peacefully flowing Hamilton Creek. The right fork of the trail junction, located by the creek, leads upstream to Hamilton Pool and the 50-foot waterfall, while the left fork (Canyon Trail, 3/4 mile) leads downstream to Hamilton Creek's confluence with the Pedernales River

You must wanna dive this REAL BAD. Why not try snorkeling?

If it was not for the 1/4 mile hike, I would be game to dive it! But carrying gear up and down a trail of that length? Not a chance for this girl!

Suppose to rain here tomorrow ahead of a cold front :sigh_2: but this is Texas so who knows.

I don't think it is open to divers anyway.

i did however find a new spot on lake Tavis to try.

It has a little hike to get to it too but it might be worth it. seems pretty secluded.
