Heh, my wife is home playing right now and says that it is worth faking the hernia instead of waiting till six ....

BTW, I got two copies and have 2 XBoxes on the network at home. She had better not be able to kick my butt by the time I get home!!!!

Hope this doesn't cut into the dive time too much ....

I had the chance of playing it about a month before it came out. Great game. Some great improvements I myself think.

me gots to get my hands on it- out over here tomorrow :D

I trust I would get an honest opinion of the game from all of you.

My son (age 14) is bugging me relentlessly about getting it. It is rated "M". Is that rating appropriate for the game? So far, I haven't even let him put it on his Christmas list until I got more information, due to the rating.

Thanks

Do you think they'll make a version for a pc? I don't have a console. I'd never be able to choose between xbox and playstation. Which is the better buy?

In my video gaming experience, they'll make a PC version, as they made one for the original Halo. Also, with Halo owned by Microsoft, they leap isn't too far. As far as choosing between PS2 and Xbox, you may want to hold off (easier since you have a PC) as the PS3 and Xbox 2 will be coming out within the next year, year and a half.

Kitty,
I just started playing it. There is lots of "alien blood" and shooting. For some reason "alien blood" or non-red colored blood seems to be less threatening to some parents.

My suggestion is to rent a copy and play it for yourself. Everyone's threshold is different. Plus it will be the best experience of your life (and a memorable one for your son) if you whip him on X-mas morning :)

Jive,
Both consoles are very cheap now. They are at the end of their life cycle. I would bet that the Halo 2 release was orchestrated to pump up sales of the Xbox vs. the PS2 for the final run before the next console release

I have the Xbox since I am a Halo Fan. I think the PS2 still has more games.

Xbox live is better than the PS2 online from what I understand. The big killer was EA wasn't making games for live. I think they have now started (or are in the process).

So, pick the games you want to play then determine the console based on that...
