Looking at possible Liveaboards in the region in ~April 25 and trying to decide if Halmahera is worth doing over Raja or Komodo (I've read those can be quite busy). I haven't seen many reviews of Halmahera so any insight would be appreciated. (And if anyone's done the trip on Sunshine I'd love to know how that went)

Thanks!

Halmahera is very different from Komodo and RA and obviously is going to be way less busy because of how remote it is. But more important is very different from those 2, since is mostly wreck diving and macro. Not so much pelagics as you get in Komodo.

If you didn't find it already, here's my trip report about KLM Sunshine from 2019: KLM Sunshine: why we left the boat before the end ...

Even though it's a bit old now, from the way the crew and owner cared, it should still be in good condition.

Absolutely loved the boat and crew. Not sure if Halmahera would be better/on par with RA...
