So last night I got most of my gear and dove with it at Navy Hall in the Niagara River.

The Gear:

Regulators- 1st Envoy first stage (not enviro sealed), Long hose has Onyx reg, necklace has Envoy.

So the regs preformed great! I had a great dive with them, they breath easy, and the reason I have the two different regs are because the Onyx has an adjustable knob for breathing with pre-dive switch. The Envoy only has the pre-dive switch. My plan for the first stage is to have my shop seal it for me, as getting the Onxy (which is sealed already) was way too expensive in comparison.

Computer- Diverite Nitek Q Trimix

The computer was great, it will take some more diving to get really use to it, but for a first dive it was awesome! The only drawback is that it doesn't time your safety stops, but the dive timer counts seconds so I can look at my watch and take note of my 3 mins. It shows a graph of my profile, has a compass (that I was trying to figure out how to get to but couldn't, but have now), and eventually all the features will be useful to me once I become more advanced. I am got it used for less than a zoop.

Exposure protection- Bare Velocity 7mm Medium, Mares hood, Subgear G flex gloves

The wetsuit is a wetsuit, either fits or it doesn't. this one fit and it kept me warm in 53 degree water. The hoot I found is able to pop above my wetsuit neck if I am not careful but it only happened once (on shore). The gloves are awesome, I like that I can adjust the wrist tightness with the velcro strap, and the kevlar hands are perfect for diving up here!

So far I really like my gear!!!! Can't wait to get my DSS BP/W. (Also as an aside, I got carried away by the current and got lost AF. Scared my gf when I didn't come up right away)

Glad you are enjoying your new gear.

That's okay, because scuba divers don't need to swim! That's what others have told me, anyway. o_O
