Are there any boats in the L.A. area besides the Island Time that regularly run half-day trips (i.e. usually these would be two-tankers, fast trip to wherever)? I don't see much in the St. Brendan/Calif Diving News online database. Maybe smaller boats that offer open boats? I believe I remember reading that Divevets have been chartering the Island Diver, but their trips seem to get all filled up. I don't really have enough friends to put together my own charter of a six-pack. Seems like there are a lot more half-day boats in San Diego, but maybe that's because they have shorter runs to a lot of their dive sites. Anyway, I'm often in the situation of only having half a day free but want to get out on a boat rather than do a beach dive -- so if anyone has any other suggestions, I'd be very interested.

Alex,

There will be another wave of Island Diver boats starting up soon. Even when they fill up (everyone puts their name down, regardless of their actual schedule) spots are always opening up before the actual trip. Post your interest on the Message Board with your email and Dan will let you know whats up.

Island Time out of Long beach offer half day trip to Catalina. They have open boat dates too. 2 Dives, tanks included.

Alex,

As you can see, besides the Island Time, there is also the Island Time, out of Long beach. And don't forget the Island Time.

I had to jump on this one before Roland did.

Well, the Pac Star runs trips that embrace the Arnaud-friendly schedule of 10 - 10.

That's a half-day.

If that's a half day, what is a full day?

The peace does a midweek 3/4 day? Wait, if 10 to 10 is half day, then the peaces trip must really be a 1/4 day....

I crack myself up :lol2:
