Loctite will easily let you break them free with a screwdriver. It's not like you are epoxying the stuff. The blue and purple stuff comes apart with hand tools. Stay away from the red stuff (sticks are by colour I believe). For bottles use the 242 or the 243 (all loosened by hand tools).

In the DIY thread, we discussed using Loctite for use with divelights. Here's one of the posts:

Thread lock, and most loctite products are cyanacrolates or anarobics.
They don't like water!

Seems to me that the problem is the use of those weld nuts. Would it be simpler to use lock nuts with nylon inserts (McMaster #90715A140)? They're not permanent but stay on firmly. The nut would have to go on the tank side otherwise you'll like you putting on a bed of nails.

Or as someone showed me, a little bit of dental floss wrapped around the bolt will keep those bolts tight while not having to worry about whether or not you used the correct Loctite.

you could always do away with the bolts all together and use small zip ties.

I did this w/ 1/8" zips and kept breaking them upon deployment.

Locktite - Blue , easily removable but won't turn on It's own. I use it for lots of stuff, and this looks like the perfect thing for this
Edit: "They don't like water" ... oh well

use the really small ones. Afterall the holes will take a quarter inch bolt. I used the heavy ties.

Yah,

Zips are definitely the best solution.

Use big ones...at least the size you put on your mouthpiece. They won't break but are easy to cut should you want to remove them. They're cheap...won't come undone...won't get stuck or rust.

Cut them off smooth...or do what ever you have to do so they won't cut into your drysuit or wing. Don't put one in one of the bottom holes so you can easily get to the lower bolt/wingnut.

It's pretty much a walk...

The bolts just aren't worth the hassle...nor are they the best solution.

I forgot to ask....

As long as Halcyon product is a symbol of DIR gear, are you sure that zip tie is DIR? LOL~~~~:) Just out of curiosity.....
