Hi all,

I'm loving my Halcyon Eclipse but I've got a quick question regarding the power inflator. I've noticed in a trim horizonal position it's tough to dump air accending with the power inflator due to the rubber ring that holds it in place on the left shoulder D-ring. The d-rings are clavicle level as recommended but creates a bend in the hose when i extend it up and air struggles to come out. Will I have to roll up my left shoulder to dump air or what? Seems a bit of PITA so I've been exhausting air with the rear dump valve instead. Would be nice to get some feedback on this issue before my next dive.

My partner seems to only use his power inflator to dump gas.. Things that make you go "hmmmm"...

If you want to maintain horizontal trim, using the rear dump valve is the way to go. After initial descent, a lot of people will nearly exclusively use the rear dump to vent gas from their wings while diving.

I concur use the rear dump valve.......

On my Halcyon Pioneer wing the cord is thin and short with just a knot.....so it presents less of a "catch/tangle" hazard......but makes it hard to locate and pull....unlike some with bigger "pulls" on them......

I just make sure that the cord is free at the start of my dive.....while on the surface I reach behind me and check that I can locate the cord........

Hope this helps......M

Urm no - no modifications smarty pants!

I have a small plastic peice on the rear dump string, difficult at first to find but easy once I started locating the dump valve and pinching the center to grab the string. What I've been doing is simply holding onto the dump string on accent with my left hand and keeping my right hand out in front of me watching my computer for depth - works for me.

Initially I was quite surprised by the size of the tiny dump handle as other jacket bc's have golf ball sized pull handles. Makes sense though from a tangle hazard perspective.
