I am new diver ( 16 dives ) and do all my diving here in socal Channel Islands area. I just bought a SS back plate and want your opinions on these two wings. Which do you prefer and why?

I would go for the OMS 32 cus it's tougher than the Pioneer as it's a double bladder wing, has inbuilt sta rods and is red (more visible).

If you're talking about the OMS bladder without the bungiees, I think it's a nice wing. My only concern is with the inflator. I really dislike having the inflator button to the outside. For single tank diving, it's fine though.

I have a Pioneer 27, but I'd dive either of these...

I have read on SB that some have said that there have been problems with the inflators. May have been fixed by now?

The inflators with the stainless steel buttons have been a problem. Halcyon has now abandoned them and gone with a plastic inflator. If you buy a Halcyon wing (nice wings) make sure it has the new plastic inflator.

OMS offers both inflators.
Easy to change out in any case.
