Lets see what the numbers look like from Pioneer owners on the board. Some seem to think the problem lies in user error/mishandling only. Some say its because folks don't take care of their wing... cramming it into places it shouldn't be. It's odd to me that you don't see this same type of problem from users on the board concerning any other type of BC. Numbers don't lie, that is if everyone reports accurately.

Please keep your selections factual. If you've owned more than one 27lb wing, please report any problems you have had with any of them and the resolution, if any.

Hmm, well I haven't had a problem with my 36# Pioneer, but that doesn't seem to be an option. Are the problems reported specific to the 27# wing?

James

*Edit: I didn't see the other post for the 36#.

If you take a look, you'll notice that there is a poll for both the 36lb and the 27lb wings...

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU HAVE HAD A LEAK, MARK THAT YOU HAVE HAD A LEAK AS WELL AS WHAT THE RESOLUTION WAS... I see that someone voted that that they have had a problem that had no resolution yet, but failed to also tally a vote that they had had a problem... This is so we can get a quick look at the overall number of leakers versus non-leakers without having to count up the different resolution figures.

It's not a perfect poll, but its the best I could come up with.

When I had my 45# Pioneer I never experienced any leaks, holes, etc. It actually seemed to be made quite well.

I've never had any problems with my 27lbs or 55lbs Halcyon wings.

Again, if you've had a problem please indicate what type of problem and how it was handled... you can make more than one selection on this poll. Some never have any problems... but as the days go by and people see this poll, I think we'll see that thats not always the case. What percentage of leaks is acceptable... thats the question. We all know that there are some that have never had any trouble and those that have had trouble with a brand new wing. We want to find out how the numbers compare and how Halcyon handled these situations.

I have been using a 27# Halcyon for single tank diving for over 2 years now. No problems whatsoever. I am very good about gear maintenance, rinsing after diving, proper storage. Looks new and dives new! :) ZG

3 out of 13 "voters" have had leaks so far with their 27lb wing. Not as many as the 36lb so far, but according to other threads on here I think that a lot of people haven't shared their experience on the poll yet. If nothing else, I hope these problems lead to Halcyon going to a separate bladder and shell configuration. Seems like a pretty simply fix, but I can't really think of a reason why they didn't go with that approach in the first place... It's pretty easy to pull out a leaking bladder and repair the hole. Patching the shell on these wings is ugly and doesn't seem to be all that effective.
