I just received my new Halcyon Eclipse wing, this is my first Halcyon wing. I know Halcyon/DIR uses a shorter corrugated inflator hose compared to others. As soon as the wing arrived I set up my rig and tried it on. Maybe because I'm used to a longer inflator hose, but this sure seemed short to me. I can oraly inflate the wing w/o any problems, but when at rest the inflator valve rests just over my shoulder, which seems to be a bit high. Is this about the position of where it should be??

Yes, it's a bit shorter that what's shown on the link.
The inflator hose is short so it doesn't get in the way of your deco bottle clipped to your left side.
It needs to be long enough to orally inflate, and it should work just fine.

try www.baue.org for a more complete set of set-up pics. the wing inflator might be hanging high because you're huge or maybe coz the bp is hanging low.
another option is to search for a local who dives bp/wings for pointers.

Yah the eclipse with the new inflator seems shorter yet again which is fine...Just different. Fine though.

I think this is a biggie. Not a noticeable problem with a "normal" inflator, but a "proper" length hose requires "proper" rigging.
I don't think there's been more than a handful of students who show up at DIR-F with their harness properly adjusted.
I don't think there's been more than a handful of students who leave DIR-F and don't end up loosening their harness a bit (they really crank them down, and tell you not to cut it until after 10 or so dives).
With only the plate and harness on your back (not buckled, just hanging by the soulder straps) you need to be able to touch the top of the plate. If you can't, tighten the shoulder straps 1/2" or so at a time until you can.
Mine is comfortably snug in my TLS/G200, and comfortably loose in a 3mm fullsuit. I can don/doff in-water with the drysuit, and I can reach the backplate in the wetsuit (or shirtless).
Pre-DIRf, my plate was probably 2-3" below my "reach".

With the backplate and harness on, I can touch the top of the backplate. I think is just a matter of getting accustom to something different. Unfortunately, there is not a LDS in my area to consult with. Thanks for the suggestions.

Im just like you. My eclipse is my first bp/wing. When putting mine on at home thought the hose was a little short. But in the water it was completely different. Was comfortable. My old setup was waaaayyy to long. This is just right.

I would have to agree! When I first tried it on I felt that the hose was a little too short however once in the water it was perfect. Now when I use a rec BC for pool sessions the hose feels like it is ten feet long!
