I am wondering if there are any people diving the halcyon infinity that can offer advice on weighting. I just purchased the infinity with the ss plate and weighted sta. I know i can add another 5 lbs per weight pocket but with my brooks crushed neoprene drysuit in cold fresh water i need roughly 33 lbs. On the bc i can have 22 pounds but am wondering how one weights the rest with the crotch strap. This is my first non jacket bc system.

Thanks for your help.

Backplate = 6 lbs
STA = 5 lbs
Waist weights = 2 x 5 lbs

You could add another 2 x 5 lbs in trim pockets to your cam band straps. XS Scuba sells inexpensive pockets.

@Marie13 dives the Infinity. Maybe she can advise as well.

Depending on your trim you can use cambands or a weightbelt.
You can sort the weights that they don’t mess up your weight pockets.
Put on the belt first and the waistbelt of the BP Goes over it.

Get another pair of trim pockets for bottom cam band if you need to carry more weight. Works well for me.

STA weight insert is actually - 6lbs
STA adapter and other harware ( d rings & buckles... ) - weigh 1.5lbs +
ABC Weight pockets 10
SS backplate - 6
= 23.5lbs
If you dive a steel tank that adds 4lbs +- over aluminum
Trim weight pockets on cam bands 2 x 2.5 = 5
= 32.5lbs
Trim weight pockets 2 x 3 = 6
= 33.5lbs

Thanks for all the help! I will be ordering some trim weight pockets ASAP.
I am assuming 10lbs is enough ditchable weight in my neoprene drysuit?

None of this is limited to the Halcyon Infinity. Almost all BP/W will have the same issue.

People have already mentioned extra weight pockets and a weight belt.

There are weight harnesses available as well. DUI makes one.
