Just curious about the application of the Halcyon Explorer 40. Every post I read about Halcyon double wings seems to talk about the 55lb version, but I never hear anyone mention the 40. What applications is it made for? Is the 55 just more versatile and the 40 not enough lift for most doubles rigs?

Aloha, Tim

P.S. I'm not a doubles diver at this point in time, perhaps one day, but that's a ways off...

They have changed their line a bit. They used to make a 38 that is slightly narrower than the other explorer series. It is absolutely perfect for double AL80s because it doesn't "wrap" as much and is plenty of lift. If you are just diving double aluminum 80s, a 40 would be perfect. Personally, I tailer the lift of the wing to the size tanks I am using, but I think most people just buy the huge wing for steel tanks and then use that whenever they use any doubles.

and then sometimes others then go and buy another smaller wing because they don't like to deal with huge wrap of the 55 (even if they are using Steel tanks)
