Dear all,
Has anyone used the xDeep doubles 40lb wing and has any reviews to offer?

I'd like to know how it compares to the Halcyon 40lb doubles wing.

I heard from a friend that the Halcyon wing allows you to dump air while in trim, without having to tilt your body at all, because of the location of the dump valve.
I find that a very attractive feature.

However the xDeep is more friendly to my budget.

TIA for your input!

WhiteSands main difference you will find comparing those two is the cut (shape of the donut).
Yes both are sort of round but:

- xDeep has shaved top portion of the wing so material is not blocking the access to the vales
- our OPV / dump valve is located even more on peak (further away) from backplate when compared to Halcyon
it will not only purge easier when low amount of gas in the wing but is cleaner when you wear 6cf argon bottle
- thirdly slightly enlarged (vs. Hal) surface of the wing on the bottom creates higher surface position (which I love in higher seas)

Now, I'm not current with material that Halcyon is made of but xdeep is made from strongest available Cordura® 1100 dTEX produced in Germany.
with inner ballistic nylon bladder all of that gives you a lifetime warranty on wing.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best.

Talk about an unbiased opinion, WhiteSands! ;)

As the owner of both 40lb and 60lb Evolve wings, I can confirm that access to both posts and the isolator is not an issue. What would be an issue is taking lift away from the heaviest portion of the rig and thereby affecting trim, by shaving the top of the wing for pointless reasons.

Spoken like someone who has no clue how to rig an argon bottle. I will say that the OPV on H wings/SMBs is crap, and should be replaced with a DSS OPV.

You're...advocating the design based on its ability to get you further out of the water at the surface when vertical? By putting too much lift at the lightest portion of the doubles, and thereby goat:censored:ing horizontal trim? Yeeeaaahhh.

I'm not going to get into which wing has the tougher outer bag, because neither H nor xDeep is going to win that contest. You want a bulletproof wing, you hold your nose and buy an Oxycheq Extreme, which laughs at attempts to slash it with a box cutter.
