There is a retailer finder in the Halcyon homepage.... Better find divers in your local area that dive Backplate and wings (BP&Ws) who can let you test drive their rigs before you buy.

Welcome to Scuba Board please post on the Newcomers and intro and introduce yourself and also filling out your profile will help people address your questions better

What BP/W system does you shop support? Just curious.

well our shop out here only supports genesis i looked at the recon but man it felt like real crap on my back.. i dont like genesis gear.. not flaming but thats what i think and my body likes..

kinda fishy dont ya think?:) go somewhere else

Halcyon is a very good choice , i dove an Evolve 40 doubles wing this weekend and was very impressed , if your looking for a singles setup i have no problem suggesting them , another good setup to look into is Agir thru salvo. I dive there singles system and have no complants.

Don't judge how a BC feels in the shop.... The true test is having it on in the water.. A lot of people will say that BP&W's feel uncomfortable out of the water but in the water it pretty much disapears....

While "H" makes nice stuff....it is a bit pricy...it is just a harness, backplate and wing after all....you can get IMHO just as good or better for less from others...try deepseasupply for example....You also have Diverite,Hammerhead and others to choose from....

I bought a Halcyon SS backplate and Pioneer 27 wing last May and have done about 40 dives with it. It works great and everything that folks here on SB said about the stream lining and horizontal control is very true, at least in my case. Unfortunately the rumors of the "leaky" Pioneer have proved true also. Maybe I'm just unlucky but I've never had a bcd leak before. There are two teeny, tiny holes that I noticed while submerging and washing it. They are so tiny that you couldn't make holes that size with a sewing needle. And, it doesn't affect the way it works since the leaks are so tiny...but as someone said, the "H" is expensive and I expected flawless quality. I would still buy another one though. Perhaps an Eclipse this time. Hank

Thank you i was looking at OMS 2. But i will prob go with the big H lol i look the looks and the reviews looks like they put out nice gear thank you guys :) :D
