What I found most helpful is a combination of either soaking your hair in conditioner and/or hairwax together with French Braids :sheik:eek:r using conditioner and a doo rag...:hat:

But they way they fit and are tied in the back, your long hair can be confined inside.

Yes... they work great, as long as you don't forget you have it on... After I realized that one is floating around the North Atlantic, I don't dive with my other one for fear of forgetting again and removing my hood.

I've not had much problems with the back, athough it is a lot shorter than it used to be. My problem is more related to hair getting in the seals of my mask rather than any sort of restraint of head movement...

Granted my hair is very thin and that could be the difference.

Hi,

I use a cap made by speedo out of the same material as a speedo. My hair stays just fine. I also use a neoprene one piece device that fits over my mask strap. The cap should do the trick and it also adds some addtional insulation when use with a hood.

=-)

I've discovered that the most tidy method of keeping the hair inside the hood (or for diving without hood) is to french braid on the sides. Start at the front of the head and keep braiding/plaiting until you get to the back.

Otherwise, I tie all the hair loosely at the back of the hair and tuck it all in underneath the hood.

Good luck

is probably a lycra cap. It doesn't keep water out but keeps your hair in place and is more comfortable than the latex or silicone caps (supposedly).

Actually, I went with this option without the help from Raxafarian.

My scissors

For me it's just a lot easier to have short hair.

Well I am not ready for a cut yet, but it is tempting...I think I will try a lycra swim cap, it would be too hot with silicone or rubber, the hood keeps me toasty, and hopefully it will stay out of my mask seal as well, it would be so much easier if I lived somewhere warm and could justwear nothing!:fruit: :hula:
