Anyone interested in diving Haigh Nov 18th? I guess this is their last weekend of the year.

Tom

I'll be out as well...

Just got back from diving at Haigh today. If you guys want a preview, the vis was excellent...40 feet at least! The cloudy particulate matter that settled underneath the west dock has disappeared, and we could see the rocky floor from the surface. It was about 47 degrees straight down the water column.

Mike and I also did a twilight/night dive in the deep hole to check out the sulfur layer. The sulfer is...still there and still stinky. :) It was my first time diving in nearly pitch black conditions...what a rush. Vis was maybe 1 foot with a big flashlight.

Great news on the vis...just finished putting the camera rig together to close out the year at Haigh with some shots.

It was a good day to dive. Too bad both Dave and Dale had drysuit issues. At least Dale was able to finish out both dives. The viz was good. I looked straight down from the surface at the West Dock and saw a leaf sitting on the bottom! Later, I was able to see the swim through tube from the Flamingo. I had never seen that before. The viz was spotty, better in some places than others, but for the most part I was able to see the quarry in a different way than usual. Almost makes me feel ok about getting blown off another charter, since Saturday's dive on the Milwaukee Car Ferry was canceled. I'm going to miss the quarry until it opens again in March. See you all then!

Heck, I started the dang thread, and I didn't even get out. Had a death in the family, and had to serve as a pall bearer. By the sounds of it, I would have had fun. Oh, well, I'll be at Mermet for the New Years dive at least...
