Took Nelson on his "first post-certification" dive today & we both had a wonderful time!
There were only 6 other people besides us diving today (what's up with THAT)? Anyway, glad everyone stayed away...it gave us the run of the place.:D
Water was pretty high(the picnic area is gone for now).
Surface temp was 72 & at 31 feet it got down to 68. Vis was great(don't ask me what it was though). I'm horrible at judging distances. I can only tell you that I could see what I was coming up on way BEFORE I got to it!!! Wore my 5 mil & was comfortable.
The BIG catfish were kinda hanging around on the bottom, but the piranha were as aggressive as ever!

you had a good time. I can't wait to get down there again.

I hope there aren't a bunch of storms or people to screw it up for me next weekend. Sounds like its going to be a fun time. Thanks for the report.

Thanks for the post. I was wondering what the temps were at the bottom, since my son only has a 3mm suit. We did Ginnie in December with 3mm full suit (72 deg water) and were very comfortable, so we should beg fine. You made my mind up for me, thanks.

In another month the small lakes in Illionois will be out of the 50's. But until then I'll head down to KY. Will have to watch out for those pirhana, though!

Thanks again for posting those temps.
