Hi,

Well I finally got out and did my first dive with a BP/W setup. I have to say that I have a regular BC that I love and only got a BP/W setup because I am going to Sipadan and with weight restrictions would not be able to take my regular BC. Even with all the hype I wasn't really expecting much and was planning to continue to use my regular BC for most diving.

Well....! I was very impressed with the BC/W and feel that I am going to become one of the converted. No-one that i dive with uses a BP/W so I was hesitant but really it felt so light and my trim seemed great. Today was only a shallow dive (5m) but lots of surge and it managed great. I look forward to getting it into deeper water next weekend.

Now I just have a couple of niggly little things I want to sort out with it.

1. I'm used to having my inflator hose right there, but with the BP/W it flops around everwhere. How do people keep their inflator in the one spot?

2. Pockets. I desperately need a pocket. Today I had nowhere to leave my car keys. is there anyway to add a pocket?

3. It rode up a bit and I was hitting my head. I suspect this will be solved with the addition of a crotch strap? Yes/no?

thanks heaps for any suggestions,
mel :)

1. Halcyon includes a retainer but all you need is a small loop of bingee on your left side where the D ring is

2.You can add pockets, but the car key can be put in you w/s

3.yes thats what the crotch strap is for

You can attach pockets (Halcyon, Dive Xtras etc.) to your wetsuit

Necessary Tools: chalk, small brush, small roller

Recommended Adhesive: (McNett) Aquaseal Seal Cement (www.mcnett.com)

1. Don suit and hold pocket in desired location. (Recommended placement is on outer-thigh to keep the pockets out of the flow)
2. Use chalk to outline the desired location for pocket.
3. Remove suit and place on a hard flat surface.
4. Apply first coat of Seal Cement around outer one-inch strip on both the suit and the pocket.
5. Allow the adhesive to get tacky for about ten minutes and then apply a second coat.
6. Allow the adhesive to dry until tacky, for about ten minutes, and then apply a third coat.
7. Again allow the adhesive to dry until tacky, about ten minutes.
8. Place the pocket on the suit in the exact location desired. (Make sure it’s correct since it will not move easily at this point)
9. Use the roller to roll the pocket on the suit.
10. Allow drying for at least 24 hours before diving.

Or get a pair of X-shorts.

Or you can add a pouch (something like a Halcyon Harness Pocket) the right side of your waist if you are not using a canister light.

Thanks for the detailed steps Vie, I'll have to track down a pocket.

i have a small pic of the bungy on the left side d ring. just put it right under the d-ring stoper so the stoper holds the bungy in place and it will hold it nice for you. mines all walys in the same spot.
i will put up a pic lator today

here you go i tied the bungy rope with wire plastic wire ties that you could get from ace hardware. just some thing that when you pull on the bungy it wont tighten
