I am a newly certified diver and I have to be in gulf shores alabama the weekend of june 7th for a friends wedding. I am the only diver of the group and would like to get in a shore dive to save money if possible. Only problem would be I dont have a dive partner. Any suggestions?

I have only been to Gulf Shores twice, and both times the conditions were not good for any shore diving. I ended up both times diving the Lulu with Down Under Dive Shop. I was told there are a couple of areas to shore dive, one being the Whiskey wreck. You just have to catch the tides and conditions right. I am sure some others that dive in that area will post some better information.

Thanks sooner thats probably what I will end up doing. Anybody else got any suggestions?

The Whiskey wreck is okay for a local who's jonesing for a dive, but it's hit-and-miss, and usually miss.

The Ft. Pickens Jetties in Pensacola are more reliable, but you really need a guide, or you'll miss the better stuff.

Call Capt. Gary and book a trip. It will be the best bang for your buck/time: Gary's Gulf Diver - Home page
