Do you know whether there is GSM coverage along southern safari routes, all the way from Sharm to Saint Jones?

We are going there next week and in part of the time we must have at least cellular phone working- better to be able to send/receive data :shakehead:

I did the deep south route (Marsa Alam - St. Johns - Elphinstone) in March. There was no GSM coverage most of the way, only when we moved close to shore at Abu Dabab. I didn't try GPRS.
There should be pretty much continuous GSM coverage to the north of Marsa Alam, but you may be traveling too far out to sea for it to be any use.

Enjoy your trip anyway
