After doing some searches I haven't really seen anyone discuss the quality of the GSM G.divers communications unit that is coupled with the Ocean Reef FFM.
I must say I was surprised by how any transmission I received was unintelligible, regardless of distance from the other person, conditions, etc. Whether we were next to each other in the pool in 6 feet of water or separated by farther distances in open water, we simply could not understand what the other was saying. Yes, the microphones were positioned and facing in the proper direction as indicated by the manual. Speaking slowly and really focusing on pronouncing words as clearly as possible had no effect.
Has anyone else had better luck with the GSM comms? Is there something here that we happen to be missing?
