Hi Everyone,
I just completed my open water diver training with SSI this weekend. I had so much fun. We did our open water dives in Clarks Hill Lake (Lake Thurmond) which is on the SC-GA border. There's an old airplane and a boat under about 20 ft of water where we spent most of our time. On our final dive yesterday, my buddy and I got to go alone and we got down to 55 ft--it was cold and awesome! The instructor and his family were great and really made us noobs feel safe and confident.
One thing I've noticed that is particularly important to me, is the general niceness of the divers I've met so far - all of them seem to be happy, fun loving folks, willing to help and advise without being condescending. This, along with the fun of the dive, makes me really glad that I've finally decided to get involved with diving.
Cheers,
Doug
