Hello everyone!

I've been diving for a few months and decided to search for some forums to talk about our favorite sport. I've been to a few other forums, but this is the most active forum I found with quality posts. I just decided to register after lurking for an hour or so. I promise I will try not to piss off the venerable members by starting useless flame wars :P

welcome aboard i'm new too you will find lots of good stuff in the back threads get a glass of tea a good chair and start resding.

Hey Sean, welcome to the board. How long is the dive season up there?

Thanks everybody.

Far_X: The dive season is 12 months long. ;) During the winter the visibility is much better due to lower algae concentrations. A lot of people out here dive in drysuits because the water temperature is ~13 C (55 for you Fahrenheit folk); although, wetsuits are fairly common. My wetsuit is rated to 0 C (32 F) however I havn't dove in water that cold and can't tell you if it keeps me warm enough.

Howdy!

Welcome to SB!!
:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue: Look around our various forums - everything from New-To-Scuba to Instructors-Only to Dive Medicine.

Yeah, we're pretty friendly here. And even if you get out of line, we'll try to be friendly as we tell you to shut up! :D

Hi there Sean!

Welcome! I'm new too.

How's the dive over there? Where do u normally dive? I'm in Singapore right now. I'm looking to return to Vancouver or Victoria. However, I was preparing myself to miss and give up diving. If I wanna dive, I would have to go down south to dive. So there'd be less diving opportunities.
