Thanks people. Anyone know if there is any decent diving near Naples, Florida? My parents are snowbirds and I always go down for a visit each winter. A day of diving might make up for that night of bingo at the country club with everyone calling me "dear"!

Congrats on your certification, Depth Charge. I too wanted to dive way back when. In fact, I went away to college--University of Miami--and majored in marine biology without ever diving. Big mistake. But, I'm busily rectifying it now.

Kay:
I am thrilled to say that I am FINALLY learning how to be a SCUBA diver. I have only wanted this for...over 40 years. I have snorkeled as often as possible for the past dozen years and have always wanted to see more of those creatures that elude me as I bob on the surface. I will be finished my certification course by the end of September. I live in New England where the water is close to intolerable. My dive instructor promises me that I won't be cold when we go to do my ocean dives. However, I vastly prefer the tropical oceans and go there every chance that I get. Next time I'm there, I an go diving. I am beside myself with excitement. I am looking foward to 'meeting' fellow travelers with the same interest.

Greetings from Matt,

Welcome to Scuba Board! I came here to look for help with my scuba diving dream and the response has been fantastic. So, I know you will enjoy being a member here.
There are a lot of nice and informative scuba divers. It's a good place to meet other divers and share experiences and dreams. Take care from Matt. :butnhome:
