Hi!

I'm a long-time thread browser who has finally taken the plunge and become a member.

I do a lot of cold water wreck diving in the Great Lakes and have picked up some useful tips from other members...especially from other 'old broads' like me who dive dry and deep on what the big boys like to call my 'girlie doubles' (HP 80s). ;)

Glad to be part of the group!

Glad you finally jumped on board. Give us lots of wreck diving reports, where and how. The Great Lakes are on my to dive list, I have been coming up there for about 5 years to hunt, nice country.

Welcome & don't forget to visit This Forum . Our own little corner of ScubaBoard.

Welcome BubblesUP - There are quite a few of us from around the Great Lakes. Here in Toronto we do much of the same - cold water wreck diving. I'm sure you'll find the board quite informative and entertaining!

Heya and welcome out of the shadows! 'girlie doubles'

Thanks to you all for the warm welcome!

Jon, I appreciate the link to the Great Lakes Wrecking Crew. I'll be sure to check it out.

I'm glad you got aboard, I've been telling friends who reccently moved to MI that there's no reason they should stop diving. Now I've got a few good links to send their way. Always wanted to get out there and try a few dives, but, never had the chance... Someday.

Hey, Skeet.

I hope you do get the chance to come up this way to dive. There's some awesome wreck diving in Lake Huron out of Port Sanilac, MI in both the Sanilac Shores and Thumb Area preserves. IMHO, Gary Venet's Rec & Tec charter is the only way to go. (http://www.rectecdivecharters.com/index.htm) Gary's a great guy and runs a first-class operation.

There's more great wreck diving in nearby Ontario, Canada. Last summer I made my first trip to Kingston, and can't wait for a return trip this August. Check out the photos and info at the following URL's:

My favorites were the Munson and the Wolfe Islander II (sunk for divers - safe penetrations), but I didn't make it out to see the huge, upright paddlewheel on the Comet.

Regards,
Gail

Welcome to the board! Check out the meet and greet thread. This is a fun group to hang out and dive with, it's definitely worth the trip to the quarry just for the food if nothing else :)
