Hi. I'm a professor at UCLA, a psychologist, work at the VA Hospital and also in private practice. I've been a scuba diver for about 10 years, and usually do one or two big dive trips per year. Trips have included the Galapagos, Indonesia (Bali and the Komodo Islands), Roatan (and travelling there again this month), Belize a few times, Fiji a few times, Sea of Cortez, Turks and Caicos, Hawaii, and the Yucatan. Not much California diving for me (I'm not crazy about cold water and lots of neoprene).

Anyway, just discovered this site... Looks great so far!

Glad you found us, and hope you'll contribute from your experiences, but - unfounded opinions are also accepted here.

Welcome Aboard!!!

It's addictive, but who cares?!?!?

Good friends and good info. What could be better???

P.S. - If you have not already done so, please fill out your profile.

Sounds like you have a lot to offer to the board. I would love to dive half of the places you have so far.

Welcome to the board. If you like warm water diving, you'll just have to try South Florida. It's warm, clear and easy, and there are lots of great divers to buddy with. Check out the Florida Conch Divers forum and see for yourself.

Best wishes and safe ascents,
Grier

Welcome to the Board. This is a great place to find buddies and learn about diving. If you change your mind about the cold diving.. There is some awesome diving here in Southern California too, coral reefs are pretty cool but kelp forests with harbor seals and sea lions swimming around are pretty sweet too.

Welcome to ScubaBoard!

Cool screen name for a psych prof!

I had an uncle who was a dean in the language department at UCLA. I believe he started there in 1938. I have fond memories of roaming around the Campus with my aunt and uncle when I was a kid.

Enjoy the board!

Hello from Matt,

Welcome to SB! :scatter: I came here to look for help with my scuba diving dream and the response has been fantastic. So, I know you will enjoy being a member here.
There are a lot of nice and informative scuba divers. It's a good place to meet other divers and share experiences and dreams. Take care from Matt. :snorkels:
