Greetings and salutations from East TN. I originally certifed via PADI back in 1984...dove for a number of years quite regularly...faded out of the sport sometime in the 90's...and, "re-certified" last August with my son when he took an interest in the sport.

For the most part, we are relegated to cold water diving in the local quarries and lakes of East TN, but we get down to warm waters when we can. My son did his first ocean dives last October in the Keys, and we just returned from a trip with Blackbeard's Cruises in the Bahamas this past June. We had a blast, but it's now getting difficult to get him back in the quarries. ;)

My son now has somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 +/- dives, and I have lost count of how many hours I have spent underwater since the mid-80's. We are by no means experts in the field, but consider ourselves to be solid recreational divers. We plan to pursue additional training, and have the greatest interest in large pelagic sealife, high profile reef structures, and wreck diving.

Anyways...greetings ya'll.

Welcome to the board, alot of informative people here, its a great place to get hopefully all of your questions answered.

Thanks for the welcome. I've been a member of a couple other forums, and have browsed this forum for a little while...just thought it was time to join. I see you're from what many consider to be our sister state. How's the diving up your way? Anything interesting enough to lure out-of-staters for a weekend?
