Hello!

Well, I'm from Croatia and I'm diving for about three years.
SSI AOWD and working on my Stress and Rescue course (just theory - waiting for a summer :( ).
During summer I work in diving center (booking, at the moment) and it is best job in the world - you dive and get paid for it :) .

My little town Omis is founded in 13th century, it is located between sea, mountain and river and it was famous (or notorious :)) because of it's pirates :pirate: .

If you want to know more about Croatia just ask :)

Btw. when I'm not diving (most of the year) I'm studying architecture.

Very good to have you here.

I'm sure you'll have some interesting things to share with us.

Congradulations on the job. Do you dive mostly near the shop? What kind of conditions? Give us a little detail.

Have fun here on the board!

To the Scuba Board
Thats great you live so close to the ocean. have you ever dove on an old pirate ship yet? I dont live close to the ocean I have to drive at 70 mph on the Interstate for 9 hours to get to the ocean. Again welcome aboard!.

Thank you so much for such a warm welcome!

Concerning ocean, I'm nowhere near it. Croatia is ond the coast of the Adriatic sea (Mediterranean) and it's country with 2000 islands (imagine possible dive sites :))

I'm usualy diving within 10km around Omis and there are some amazing locatins.
- 2000 years old Roman amphorae (27m - 90ft);
- underwater river coming out at 30m (100ft) and the bottomles pit (probably deeper than 120m - 300ft) with the AMAZING quantity and diversity of sealife. (my deepest dive 45m-150ft)
- beautiful cave in shape of a bubble 40m across, entrance at 3m, unbelivable colors.
- vertical walls from the surface to 50m
- big rocks (some of them are 20m high) in the sand which are oasis of fish and corals. I love jumping fom them. Just spread my arms and fly away :)
- some shipwrecks (none of them pirate unfortunately)
- ...

In Omis, when not diving, you can try rafting, canyoning, freeclimbing, windsurfing, paragliding (extreme sport paradise) or just hiking in mountains, along river, along coast.

Did I mention that I love my little town :)
